Almost half of Michigan consist of water and, excluding Alaska, Michigan has more shoreline than any other state, fronting four of the Great Lakes: Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie. With Great Lakes shoreline it is easy to see why Michigan boasts a thriving recreational industry, and leads the nation with approximately one million registered pleasure boats.
The Chapel Rock is a sandstone structure located on the shores of Lake Michigan, in the Pictured Rocks National Park (USA). On top of this rock, apparently unstable, grows large pine with little or feeding ground for rooting. The tree has been extended, in principle inexplicably, their roots up to floor where getting water and nutrients needed to stay alive.
