Home sweet home
Countercultural architect Paolo Soleri looked beyond the bounds of four walls and a roof to orchestrate his vision for comprehensive ecological design. A handful of operations staff live in on-site apartments. Rather than dig out a boulder that’s part of the mesa Arcosanti rests upon, builders incorporated it into the room. Woodworker Tim Daulton constructed the staircase. Photo by: Peter Bohler

@Laurie Dyer - There's a b photo at the thrift store that I can't get out of my head. It's of a native woman and her daughter (Guatemalan?). The woman is looking away and the girl is facing the camera. It's gorgeous but it doesn't mean anything to me except that I like it. Do I bring it into my house or pass? What if I look it up and find out their story?
