Idea - Use as inspiration for art lesson... empty bottle, elongate with foil. Cover all in masking tape. Cover with paper mache or paper clay. Gotta love this

This reminds me of an art project I did in High School.. very nostalgic

Use pennies for enameling - cheaper and sturdier than most round copper discs! Great size for jewelry.

Mrs Beadsley's Workshop: Torch Fired Enamel

Students in 9th grade looked at the work of sculptor Isamu Noguchi and created a subtractive abstract sculpture that represents an emotion. Focus was on creating a sense of movement by manipulating form, and expressing an emotion through the use of color. We started with 3" x 3" x 8" blocks of dense styrofoam, carved with exacto knives. After they were smoothed out, we primed them with gesso and used acrylics to paint them.

Poetic sculpture. Could use poetry or pieces of text. Could ask students to identify most important sentences/passages/quotes- the more important it is, the higher it is positioned within the sculpture??
