A Country Farmhouse: Refrigerator Pickles - with bite. Will it work without the sugar, I hope?!

  • Heather Reynosa-Davis

I NEVER use sugar in pickles, whether canned or refrigerated. They always turn out awesome!

  • Marta McCall

Thanks so much Heather. I don't eat sugar of any kind----not even honey, artificials, or Stevia. It's what works for my body. I'll try these today, can't wait! :)

maybe it was cream of coconut rather than coconut milk

  • Amanda Pye

No, mine was definitely coconut milk. I'm a bit of a 'coconut geek' and only ever buy coconut milk. I'm in the UK, so I don't know if our organic coconut milk is any different here - I don't know where any of you are that have had it turn out OK! Hahaha

  • Angie Canham

I read you have to let the milk separate, and only use the heavy cream, not the thinned watery stuff that separates out. But I never got around to trying it. Organic shouldn't make a difference.

  • Cindy Sward Lemon

We have made it and it worked. We whipped it good in the kitchen-aid warm straight out of the can. We did not separate the milk like nuttykitchen.com suggested. It did not form stiff peaks like whipping cream. We put it in the fridge overnight and it had hardened!
