indoor herb garden, going to do this when I get back to Coronado for sure! Thinking about doing it in KY but not sure I get enough sunlight in doors and I would need to devise a drip pad if I did it at one of the windows. I think this place sits East-West. Next question is the East Window better than a Westward one?

2 gardens like this can feed a family of 10 all year round & use as little as a gallon of water a day, it's an awesome concept

Vertical Gardening...perfect for small places. Gorgeous too!

Windowsill herbs Vintage mason jars make great containers for a kitchen herbarium. Almost any herb can be started from seed in a mason jar. Chive, thyme and rosemary are excellent choices. When they outgrow their space, cut herbs as needed, or transplant them into a larger container or into the garden.

The next time you have green onions, don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely. We just use kitchen scissors to cut what we need for meals. I periodically empty out the water, rinse the roots off and give them fresh water.
