When you say "fist to five check" students rate their understanding by holding up the appropriate number of fingers. The goal is for everyone to be in the green. Great way for students to self-assess their understanding and help you to gauge student understanding.

Back To School Craft and Bulletin Board Idea LOVE this idea! Each student makes a puzzle piece

"Pop Open A Good Book" is fun idea for a reading bulletin board display with a popcorn theme. Students could design popcorn bags and write about their stories on their bag templates...change it up for Sunday School...pop open The Good Book....

"My Summer Bucket List" is a fun topic for students to write about at the end of the school year. I like how this teacher has had her students write inside bucket templates and their names are on shovels. This is a great idea for a last bulletin board display of the school year and before summer vacation.

idea... "My school bulletin board for the month. We wrote "I Wish" poems then took pictures like we were blowing a dandelion. We cut them

Ms. Art Teacher: My beginning of the year bulletin board! I had the kids collage each hand using the color assigned to them to make a color wheel.

Saw this on Pinterest but changed it slightly. A great way to keep track of students and eliminate the yucky, germy bathroom passes to know who is out of the room. I used a flat cookie sheet, duct tape, magnets that I painted with each student number, and labels for each section. :)

Student locations, very handy! I'm going to have to try this next year. It would be much easier to track when I have kids out for speech, sped, etc. Or if they forget to bring the bathroom pass!! :)

This is definitely a fun way to teach statistics!

4th Grade Book Recommendations~ This list from This Lunch Rox, is a great place to start when stocking a classroom library or encouraging a reluctant reader to try a new book.

4th grade read alouds. I read The BFG for summer school and the kids loved it much more than I thought they would! :)
