Elisabeth Sonrel 1874-1953 made portraits of women that have both a certain Pre-Raphaelite intensity and an affinity to French symbolist painting. Her breakthrough came at the 1900 Paris Universal World Exposition.

John Everett Millais, “Sophy Gray,” 1857 Sophia (Sophy) Margaret Gray (October 1843-15 March 1882), later Sophy Caird, was a Scottish-born model for her brother-in-law, the pre-Raphaelite painter, John Everett Millais.
