This is a great activity to keep stocked in your literacy centers! It’s low prep and students LOVE it! I love it too for the additional fine motor practice it allows! The words are the first 25 High-Frequency Words by Fountas and Pinnell) To get started: *Print and copy the pages you’d like to use *Place them in a bin with scissors, a glue sticks, and several child friendly magazines, catalogs, or advertisements for students to search for their words! *Let your students have at it!

How Many Days! Use 18 Ten Frames to count the days of school.

When they return their completed reading log, they get to pick a sucker! Now, some of these suckers have black dots on the ends of the stick. If they are lucky enough to pull out one of those, they get to pick from the treasure box. I thought a sucker once a month would be okay – that’s probably how long it will take most families to fill a reading sheet. Some will fill them up faster, some will fill them up slower.
