Those packages of pre-sliced apples you can buy at store are great for a healthy snack on the go but the price can add up. Make your own by slicing apples, soak in cold water for 3-5 minutes, then soak in a lemon-lime carbonated soda (such as 7-up or sprite) for 3-5 minutes. Divide into snack size portions and store in Ziploc bags in the fridge. The lemon-lime soda will keep the apples from browning and make them last. Will have to try
Keep Apples from Browning
When buying fruit and veggies, always soak them in a 1:4 ratio of vinegar and water to help remove toxins and pesticides - even organic! Leave them soaking for up to an hour, longer with nonorganic apples. At the end of the bath, sometimes you can even see cloudy like stuff in the water from the skins and waxes, and dirt on the bottom. Works awesome! Once I did this to blackberries and they were good for 3 WEEKS! That's unheard of with berries & water. The vinegar is KEY :)

start by adding the the salad toppings to the bottoms of the jar. Then I usually add a thin layer of broccoli sprouts for added nutrition and to separate the lettuce from any wet ingredients, and then stuff in as much lettuce as I can. Make sure you squeeze lemon juice on apples and pears to keep them from browning, and lemon or lime juice on avocados.
