Army Sgt. First Class Brenda Woods had breast cancer in both breasts. After having a double mastectomy she feels her battle with the disease was easy compared to what other women go thru. In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Minnesota Vikings selected Sgt. Brenda Geise as their Hometown Hero during Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Korleen (in white), Geise's daughter, accepted the posthumous award, along with her uncle, Mike Geise, recognizing her mother who lost her fight with breast cancer in 2011. Army Sgt. Brenda Geise passed away in November 2011. Her daughter, Korleen, cherishes her memory and speaks about her own experiences witnessing breast cancer take ahold of her mom.
