Tomatoes need calcium to achieve their full flavor potential, and calcium is often greatly lacking in our soils. 95% of a dry eggshell is calcium carbonate. When planting your tomato plants crush up (to powder) about 4 or 5 egg shells and put them in the bottom of the hole. Then plant your tomato on top. Theyll provide calcium and prevent blossom end rot.
The new "Bloomerang" lilac. It's only a small bush rather than the gigantic size of the typical lilac. AND it blooms first in the spring, and then reblooms again in the summer and stays until frost! Fragrant and low maintenance. Good for cutting flowers (thinking of vases and vases of them!) We planted 5 along our fence-line and I can't wait for the first bloom this year!
