A Place Called Kindergarten: kindertastic

I really like the way Miller says that, "We must send the message that any place can be the right place for reading" (p.66). This anchor chart is a great way to explore where you can read. I also used to think that the reading corner was a good thing; however, after reading Miller I realized that a reading corner can be ANYWHERE. I love this quote, "I do not care where or how my students are reading...they may lie on the floor, take their shoes off, or remain at their desks." (Miller, p.64).

The Basics of Writer's Workshop - I love the idea of a chart to show kids exactly what they will be doing and what they are expected to be doing.

A Writer's Workshop Look Likes/Sounds Like "Listening to Mini-Lessons" T-Chart on our Writing Wall!

This lady is amazing with her math journal challenges! The questions she is asking her kindergartners would challenge my second graders as well. Good example of higher blooms at a younger age level.

Mrs. Ricca's Kindergarten: Literacy Center "I Can" Cards {Freebie}

I am going to incorporate this anchor chart into my writing lessons for next year. I can pick one thing that a student needs to work on and have them make that their main focus during writing. This will be fluid and I can have a constant visual reminder of what I should make my main focus during conferencing.
