Happenings of a Housewife: Soap Scum Be Gone! Dawn and Vinegar Shower Cleaner - I just tried this today, and works better than any other store bought product. Highly recommend!
pinner says: This works, I was up at 4:00am searching for this (since I hadn't pinned it when I first saw it!) Soaked up what I could from my 3yo's oops, then sprayed this on. This morning, it looks like new! (which it WAS two weeks ago!!) Guess I shouldn't procrastinate putting on the mattress pad.
My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
Right after using the grill, unplug it and place a wet double-sheet of paper towel between the lid and the surface. The leftover heat causes the towel to steam and clean the grill. Wiping it dry with another paper towel is all that’s needed. I'm going to try with waffle iron.
Lemons absorb odors in the fridge. For a stinky fridge, simply place half a lemon in a dish on the top shelf. For tougher odors, sprinkle the lemon half with a teaspoon of salt, and then several teaspoons baking soda.
These lemon dust cloths take just minutes to prepare and can be stored in an airtight jar until you're ready to use them. Sometimes dusting with a dry cloth does more harm than good as it moves the dirt around instead of catching it. These cloths are damp and infused with vinegar to help catch and kill the bugs at the same time. The addition of olive oil and lemon rind bring a soft polish to your furniture.
