type-lover: Visit Sacramento by Daniel Patrick..., via SerialThriller™
This compact guide comprises 40 places that bear the citys distinctive mark. There are survivors of beatnik-era North Beach, a vintage magazine shop catering to a very diverse clientele, taquerias and a Chinatown bar. There are clifftop eateries and cable cars, unconventional horticulturalists, entirely au courant exhibits and bison in Golden Gate Park. beaches, travel maps, catering, bears, herb lester, travel books, vintage magazines, san francisco, city guides
I really enjoyed the creativity that was put into this poster by inserting graphics of world-famous landmarks throughout the city in the "San Francisco" letters. The angled letters are reminiscent of townhouses (think back to the townhouses from the TV sitcom "Full House"). An excellent neutral burnt red background color was used for this ad that really complements the colors used in the words "San Francisco". It was brilliant how they used pointed landmarks for the letters "a" and "o". type design, cover books, font, poster, travel tips, design books, book covers, san francisco, typographic design
