How To Get That Nasty Mildew Smell Out of Towels! Add 1 cup vinegar to your washer, no detergent and no fabric softener! Now run a complete cycle on HOT water. Now, you’re not done yet, run the same load again, but this time add just detergent. Then, immediately put towels in the dryer (with a dryer sheet if you want) and dry them completely.

My carpets are so gross with 3 kids carpet cleaner - Awesome! Should've done before/after pics, but I had 3 almost black stains on my off-white carpet and they came up beautifully! Had to do it twice, but they had been there a LONG time and were really ground in. 2cups hydrogen peroxide and 1/4 cup baking soda. Put in a spray bottle squirt- scrub- vacuum!

Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelling funky. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and one cup vinegar, then a second time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
