How to start the Daily 5 :)
A TON of ideas on how to organize and assess guided reading.
@Kristi Berry Hedwig the Owl is a little stuffed owl I found at Kirkland's. I want to use him like the "Elf on a Shelf" and move him daily. I would sit him somewhere around the room where my kiddos can see him. If their desks are neat and clean they get a "Desk Owl" reward and treat of some kind. I took a picture of Hedwig and erased the background to insert him into the desk reward cards. You can also use the reward cards for upper grades just minus the moving owl.
This pin is great to use in the classroom. Teaching students that "Good Readers ask ?s is so important. Often times students are embarrassed to ask questions. I would pair students up with a couple of other students to complete this poster. I think students would enjoy doing this because they are working in groups to complete a creative task.
