Creepy Halloween fruit. Take an apple or pear, slice out a wedge for the mouth and use a melon-baller to make two eye sockets, (brush with lemon juice to stop the fruit going brown) poke in some slivered almonds for teeth and plonk in a couple of red raspberry eyes. All done, and halfway healthy too.

Add blueberry hubcaps to make sure the wheels stay on. Lay whole strawberries along the top of the banana like passengers.

(For the kids) Breadstick Snails Heat to 375. Unroll dough and separate into strips. Spread strips with pesto or seasoned butter and roll up into a coil, leaving a curved end, so it looks like the head of the snail. Secure with a toothpick. Place upright on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Poke holes for antennae; insert two carrot slivers.
