Julia Schuster Staab,

Abraham Staab, a successful German Jewish merchant, built a Victorian mansion for his wife, Julia, in 1882. The Staabs were prominent in Santa Fe society and Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy, who built the cathedral, was a close friend. The Staabs had 8 children, one of whom died in infancy. Julia never really recovered from the loss of her child, & died in 1896 at age 52. Some say she so loved the house that she has never left the property and stories of her ghost have been reported for years...
