Senegal's Lake Retba, or as the French refer to it Lac Rose, is pinker than any milkshake. Experts say the lake gives off its pink hue due to cyanobacteria, a harmless halophilic bacteria found in the water. Lake Retba has a high salt content, much like that of the Dead Sea, allowing people to float effortlessly in the massive pink water.
RIO DE JANEIRO - Ilha Grande (Big Island), is an unspoiled paradise a two-hour drive south of Rio de Janeiro. Waterfalls cascade from jungle covered mountains into an emerald ocean that surrounds 107 white-sand beaches. Discovered in 1503, it has a 193 sq. km. nature preserve where no cars or roads are allowed.
Green Vision © Marc Adamus The aurora over a lake with interesting ice bubble shapes. 3 stacked 14mm horizontal shots blended vertically for perspective + 10 shots bracketed and blended for depth of field throughout the ice. The two shots for mountains and sky were taken one right after the other and then I worked on exposing for the ice. Hard to think about all those steps when you're out there at 1am in the mountains to render a scene like this, but fortunately it worked out OK this time.
