Thread of Lies Review

Duelist 2005 형사 dir Lee Myung Se. My favorite movie. Utterly beautiful. Film that is meant to be experienced through color, motion, light/shadow, dance, music, expressions...

May not be Korean, but it is Korean directed so it belongs here. "Snowpiercer" Should Have Been The Breakout Blockbuster Of The Summer, Bong Joon-ho’s dystopian masterpiece ought to be the film that everyone’s talking about this summer, just like Spielberg’s Jaws in 1975. So what went wrong? Warning: Spoilers for Snowpiercer ahead.

Castaway on the Moon (2009) ***** Essentially, a film about finding hope. The movie begins with a man's failed suicide attempt which leaves him stranded on a deserted island. Humorously though, it's right in the vicinity of Seoul. The secondary plot line is about an agoraphobic girl who has been in her room for 3 years.

Aimless Bullet (1960)

Bleak Night (2011) written and directed by Yoon Sung-hyun as a graduation project. About a father's search for answers concerning his son's death. Told through a series of flashbacks, the movie is centered on 3 high school friends. Fully recommended. The ending is one you will always remember.
