Books to build community during back to school

I thought this was a cute idea. I would probably make the wing were they could be opened and closed. That way the students would be able to use it as more of a hands on activity and reminder.

Letter walk: walk around the neighborhood (school, campus, classroom) looking for objects that begin with each letter, and then fold down tab on the plate.

Recycled egg carton memory and sorting game- could do sight words, pictures, spelling words, etc! So cute!

Spelling task cards are boring this time of year, so we've livened things up with new options.

Nuts and Bolts Spelling Practice: build fine motor skills and practice spelling/phonics skills! This would make a fun center activity.
