Consuelo Vanderbilt (1877-1964) was the daughter of William and Alva Vanderbilt. She was married against her will by her mother to the Duke of Marlborough. She brought a dowry of 2.5 million. Although her husband was known as 'Sunny', he was a very difficult man who possibly had OCD. After having 2 sons, they separated in 1906 and the marriage was annulled in 1921 on the grounds her mother had forced her into marriage. Consuelo then married the French pilot Lt. Col. Jacques Balsan.
