Opinion Writing - This fun writing unit will cover two or more weeks of writing plans! Students will write about what they think is the best fruit and the best outdoor activity. This writing packet would be great to teach along with a health and nutrition unit. Meets Common Core Standards.

Hook the Reader I think to introduce hooks in a story the student should have the option of playing with writing with different hooks. To do this you could challenge them to use different strength levels of hooks by inviting them to go "fishing". Minnow=little hook, Bass Fish=medium hook, Shark=huge hook. Could be done with a sticky hand and fish on the wall. :)
