Visiting Nurse Society of Philadelphia

The Visiting Nurse Society of Philadelphia was founded in 1886 with the goal of providing nursing care for the sick in their own homes. Nurses helped tend to many of Philadelphia's poorest residents, including immigrants from Europe and African-Americans from the South.
