The prettiest of floors need the best of care.

Sam & Anne's Colorful Modern Mix — House Tour
I like this room setting a lot! It's got a modernistic art deco feel to it! It's simple, elegant, and chic! I especially like the chandelier! It's so unique, it kinda reminds me of the framework of an umbrella! The pastel blues and eggshell tones of this room are spectacular! I like the pattern n the ceiling too! This room is fabulous! ;)
Blending both a masculine & feminine style into something not overly minimal, pretty or manly is actually a pretty tough job. Our top two tips: 1 - Pick one feminine color and use it just enough to give the room that lady’s touch. 2 - If you want to include patterns, try traditional or ethnic patterned tiles for the wall or floor. (love the flat gray with that crazy floor!)
I want to remove the vinyl currently on the floor, and inspect the hardwood underneath. If it is badly stained and can't be fixed, I'll opt for a painted floor. I had my bathroom floor painted in a classic square tile pattern (Martha Stewart's milk white, and Restoration Hardware's silver sage), so I'm sort of hoping I'm forced to go this way.
