We wanted to celebrate iconic cover design through the decades, so we published beautiful box sets of postcards from our own archives, as well as from The New Yorker, Vogue and Vanity Fair
POSTCARDS FROM PENGUIN: 100 POSTCARDS IN ONE BOX! In 1935 Allen Lane stood at a train station, looking for a good book for a journey to London. His disappointment at the poor range of paperbacks on offer led him to found Penguin Books. Declaring that 'good design is no more expensive than bad', Lane was adamant that his Penguin paperbacks should cost no more than a pack of cigarettes, but they should always look distinctive. This set holds 100 iconic Penguin book jackets from 70 years of design.
