A Bright Kitchen Kitchen designer Mick de Giulio created a homey kitchen with a retro feel in this Chicago home using yellow paint. The color, Benjamin Moore's Stuart Gold, unifies both rooms, but also gives both the kitchen and the dining area a burst of energy. The walnut floors, hand-scraped to give it even more character, changes to a chevron pattern in the adjoining breakfast room.

Playful Breakfast Nook A window-filled alcove functions like a dining room with a casual table, two slipcovered end chairs, and a pillow-topped banquette. The built-in bench and wall of windows make this small space seem much larger. Two vintage light fixtures hung with nautical rope instead of standard chains illuminate the space in this beach house. dining rooms, dining areas, kitchen tables, breakfast nooks, light fixtures, kitchen nook, hous, banquett, window seats
The Ideal Windowseat
Yellow has always been my kitchen color. Old wood looks terrific with it ~ recycle! White is good trim color, use on table & more. Cute seating is easy to put under the table when space is needed. Use more colorful lighting fixtures, add some red, blue &/or green to the mix. kitchens, dining rooms, interior, kitchen tables, breakfast nooks, colors, grey, yellow walls, stools
I think I could get away with a little table like this as an island in my kitchen -- only if it has this sort of little rug under it, though... otherwise it will just be a table in the middle of the kitchen. tiny kitchen island, adorable kitchens, tiny kitchens, small kitchens, apartment kitchen, little kitchen, rug under kitchen table, place, retro kitchens
love the paneling, brightness, glass side door & colour of countertops (wood?)
