It's time to clean your washing machine! Even if it's not visibly dirty and grungy, this will help clean soap scum and mineral deposits in the pipes and hoses. You just need vinegar, bleach, and two wash cycles!
Another pinner said...Wash outdoor windows with Woolite. I have been doing this for years and found a blog with photos. I use 1/2 cup to 1 gallon warm water, but other than that I do the same as this blogger using a soft car washing brush on an extension handle. Makes outdoor window cleaning easy.
Every month or two, give the pipes a good preventative cleaning to keep them clear of grease, oil, and hair clogs. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. The mixture will foam up. Let stand for a few minutes to dissolve fatty acids, then pour boiling water down the drain to wash out any clogs. This really works!
