That elastic band all nite would give me THE WORST headache in the morning!
I totally agree Mindy, it really does!
@Valerie Kauffman - hahahaha!! pinterest rules!
Does it work with short(shoulder length) hair?
@Mackenzie Cox--another option
I tried this last night.. did not work. It worked on my sisters hair, but I just have that horribly STRAIGHT hair that will never do anything... It does work though.. I've seen the results on my sister.. just didn't work for me :( My hair stinks! haha
Love it thanks for sharing with us!
I don't understand how to do this at all?
Jasmine, did you watch her video? If not you should it's cool. She twists the hair then tucks it under the headband (she does it all the way around her head).
I did this last night and I have amazing curls today (even 8 hours later)! I did wrap my head in a bandana over night, as I move alot when I sleep and didn't want the headband to slide out!
this was a fail for me. Tried it a few months ago...I ended up looking like medusa!
i do this about an hour after every shower i love it as does my man :)
This did not not not not not work for me..
Trying this right now
Does it matter how thick the headband is?
@alyssa ogletree I don't think so. I just like a headband that's comfy on my head. :D
this has totally worked for me! easiest way to curl my hair without heat that i've found so far!
I LOVE IT! (: I found it works best for me when my hair is mostly dry. My hair normally never holds a curl but when I use this technique my curls last until the next time I wash my hair. Thanks!
the link doesn't exists. Can you post it again so I can watch the video please. thanks
It's back up. My website crashed. :) http://thepapermama.com/201... @Mary Carrillo Davey
I tried it, my hair is a few inches long er than yours, turns out the length wasn't entire;y curled. But the top and sides look cool, I just have to come up with a way to get the rest curled. Irons do not work!
@Madalyn Strickland , I'm trying this tonight :D
I found this works really well with the headband UNDER my hair( like it would normally be worn) and then wrapped. I have shoulder length hair and bangs that are growing out and it's the perfect amount of curl with lift for the bangs.
Thank you so much for this!!!
@Jenny Bengtson click on the link. There's a video that will help. :)
Thanks!@Chelsey The Paper Mama
I have really think hair & ive tried this several times to no avail. It gets really kinky in some areas but straight in others. I might need to double-up the bands.
I dont think u can wear it through the night... ;-))
did this last night but didn't really care for it maybe i will try again.. was too curly in front and not enough in back...not to mention it was flat on top :( maybe with some practice
I have SUPER pin straight hair....i freshly washed my hair today but i think i miht go spritz my hair and try this or tomorrow! early day at work...i will let you know how it turns out!
i tried this recently... way too flat on top for me. I tried it another night with the headband underneath my hair, and twisted and tucked form the other side...it turned out a lo better, but still didn't curl quite enough in the back. unfortunately, both times i tried it i got a bad headache from having the headband on too long. so sad this didn't work out for me :(
You can wear it through the night! I just put on a loose hat like the knit ones and it worked fine :) Did get a little kinky in some areas though.
My hair is kinda thick so I used two headbands last night and it worked super well! I sectioned off the bottom ad just out the top in a headband then put the rest in a second headband. Love this :)
@Beth Parks, you should try a looser headband and lift the hair on top a little bit with the back of a comb. that might help with your headache and flat hair!
It seemed to be flat right in the spot where the headband hits. And it was fairly loose, I've just never been able to wear headbands (even when i was little). It's worth a shot to get a smaller, looser band, though.
Have done this three times & it's worked great on my medium-length, baby-fine hair. Just don't wind the hair too tight or it'll be really kinky! :) Makes getting ready in the morning a lot faster.
Did this last night and it turned out awesome! My hair never gets that curly!
Do you have like a video tutorial?!?
Click on the pictures..it takes you to her website..and under the pictures is the video. I still do this 3-4 times a week!
I have done this 2 times now, and it works really well on my hair! Only one.thing..it doesn't last all day...anyone have any.ideas? I spritzed water in my hair and then put it up....
@anna ray yes, I do! Here's the link... the video is on there: http://thepapermama.com/201...
I use spray in Gel on damp hair..and a sleek and shine cream. Then on day 2..I spritz with a watered down Leave in Conditioner, re roll, and spritz the outside of the roll a bit. For the ends you have to twist the leftovers. Mine is long enough to wrap around itself and I tuck the ends into the "knot"..tuck into the head band and use a few bobby pins to keep it "tight".
this is seriously the best thing ever! thank you!!!
@Alysha Daley Enjoy! I love it too.
I tried this with an eye mask instead of the elastic headband and it worked great! I didn't want my bangs to get in the way so I thought the elastic band on the eyemask would be a way to keep my bangs from getting in the way/getting a weird crease on line in them. (I had to use several bobby pins to keep my hair form slipping out but it was well worth it.)
@Jacqueline Knapp Cool idea!
(P.S. I slept great thanks to the eye mask!)
@Jacqueline Knapp Ha! I love eye masks, I sleep better wearing one. Too bad the kiddo doesn't sleep in.
