I've watched Mom make these for over 50 years. All she does is throw some flour in a bowl along with a little bit of baking soda, salt, water, and butter flavor Crisco. She kneads it by hand in the bowl while her comal heats on the burner. After making several balls of dough, she uses a rolling pin to flatten them out. One by one they go on the comal until they are cooked and she tosses them on a plate in a huge pile. Too good to even describe.
I love making these. I used wheat flour. No more bought ones for us...
