Take a regular artist palette (from an art store) then apply few coatings of magnetic paint (make sure you stir it REALLY well!). Then add a couple coats of chalkboard paint. The magnets are just acrylic paint squirted over tiny rare earth magnets, then let dry in whatever shape they were in!
