Decoupage with old book pages. Good idea for table tops, dressers, orbs, wood chairs, even walls & doors. Hmmm...??? Got some ideas now!

DIY Decoupaged Coffee Table - Kate Albrecht from Mr. Kate (she's featured on The Nate Berkus Show often) does the coolest makeover ever. She starts with an old coffee table and an art book and it ends up being spectacular. I'm going to start watching for art books at sales now.

I got the idea and directions for the decoupage table from Radio Girl Design blog. You'll need a table and chairs set (or other furniture piece you'd like to personalize), sandpaper, paper cutouts to be decoupaged, gesso, acrylic paints, glue (Mod Podge or other decoupage glue), polyurethane, and brushes. I sanded all the surfaces of the table that I would be working on (table surface and sides).

I've done this....Drawing on text paper and outlining in white.

old book: remove spine and use pages as base to affix scrap paper or replace book signatures with same size scrap paper for a journal, scrap book, photo album. Make a theme, use to collect most cherished Christmas & Birthday cards or use all your Wedding/Shower cards to create a keepsake of event. Endless possibilities...

I painted a cheap 30" table from Walmart. Added scrap book paper with decoupage and poly. Perfect for a little boys room! Total cost was $0. They were leftover materials from the matching dresser I did!
