Add baking soda to the water when you hard boil eggs. It raises the pH of the water and makes them easier to peel by reducing the albumen's ability to stick to the shell. Nice tip!

CLEANING A BURNT PAN: 1. Fill the bottom of the pan with a layer of water (about a cup). 2. Add one cup vinegar. 3. Bring the pan to a boil. It should be looking a bit cleaner already. 4. Remove the pan from the heat and add two TBSP baking soda. Expect fizz! 5. Empty the pan and scour as normal, if necessary add an extra bit of dry baking soda. 6. If there are any super stubborn marks that don't come off with scouring, make a paste of baking soda and a couple of drops of water. Leave the paste on the marks for a while and return to clean as normal.
Baking Soda as Silver Polish To polish silver: Wash items, then place on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot. Add a baking-soda solution (¼ cup soda, a few teaspoons salt, 1 quart boiling water) and cover for a few seconds. The result? A chemical reaction that gets the black off the gravy boat.
