Love this idea! Didn't know that the wax covered ones came un-done after a while. When I do this, I will not bother with a tweezer. I'll probably use my trusty old disposable latex gloves and dip several matches at a time, give them a shake, and stick them on the sticky tape as shown.
BTW, I don't hike. But I do think about Armageddon sometimes; especially after a prolonged power outage in my neighborhood. These matches could be kept in a covered container for some time it seems.
