I made hear & they were super good!! I added bacon & cheese to mine!
Ive done that but put butter inbetween some of the layers and then wrap in foil and grill it for about 45 min super yummy

They look good but I'd hate to clean that pan ... I'd suggest lining it with foil first.
I do the same but on a grill and once fork tender I add onions and mont jack cheese
I tried them like the recipe...awesome....some of the other ideas sound yummy too.
Oh yes definitely line the pan with foil makes clean up so much easier

I've made these for years. Wrap them in foil, add a bit of butter, seasoning, onion between the cuts and wrap in bacon. Foil and bake.

I love these been making them for years with lots of onion! I love putting them directly on the charcoal and lthey get all charred and yummy (still in foil)
I did this saturday night and they were awesome!
I make these all the time... There delicious!!! I also use a different seasoning or topping to change it up!
Add purple onion between some of the slices and if you have extra I like to put them on the side in the tinfoil. YUMMM

I have made these a million times and I always put slices of fresh garlic in between each one and also top with a fresh parsley sour cream.. Very yummy!
These are wonderful...made them twice this week. While baking, I also put achicken breast rubbed in olive oil and minced garlic. Both were ready at once. Delish.

I had some thyme mixed with butter for another recipe and slabbed a little on this last time with olive oil drizzled on, as well. So many different things you can do. Yes, the garlic put in between the slices, as well.

May be a new recipe to some -- I've had this in my recipe notebook for at least 25 years. It originally came from the Southern Living Magazine. The key to this dish is basting often during the baking process
The basting part will be really helpful...I really loved them.
I've tried this using Ukon Gold Potatoes and now it's part of my traditional Christmas Dinner "Standing Rib Roast"
Originallyyou added 1 pkg of onion soup mix to 1 stick of butter ( softened )..mix slice potato's and coat with mix..wrap in foil bake in oven or grill about 50 min..open add shredded cheese and bake 10 min mor..I have have this recipe since the 70"s..they are one of my gfamilys favorites..Enjoy
