Soak string in alcohol, tie around bottle & light on fire, then put in ice water, & BOOM! There ya go- This would be cool to hold candles or something, but knowing me I'd light myself on fire or glass would explode in my face...

I just tried this and the bottle came out all ragged and dangerous looking. Be sure to cut any string that isn't around the bottle so it won't hang down....I had some hanging down and it caught fire and there was a long crack down the bottle where the string was hanging down.
