WHAT DOES MAKEUP REALLY MEAN TO YOU? TELL ME PLEASE...

make up makes us feel prettier and makes us feel a bit more than what we are without it. We can accentuate the good and downsize the bad in our facial features.

I began playing with makeup as a little girl, and was drawn to it like a moth to flame. My mom (who I lost 3 years ago and miss so, so much) was a Mary Kay consultant in the 80s, and I remember this huge pink case that she brought home one day with tubes and tubes of foundations and colors. I. Was. In. Heaven. It was like, instant love. It was because of my mom (party due to genes) that I'm in my 40s, but look at least a decade younger, because she instilled in me very early that I should always take care of my skin: keep it cleaned, toned and moisturized especially before bed. (I had friends who used to brag about sleeping in their makeup...yuck!). So skincare itself was huge, and then the play that came with adding color. For me now, I just want to have beautiful skin, a healthy color in my cheeks and lips for everyday...although I struggle with my partially hooded eyes (but that's another story!). I keep my lid colors matte and natural, though, staying away from shimmer (thanks for the tip!), and use the push brush/liner to make my lashline appear thicker (thanks to you, again), and then make sure my brows look full but natural. All of this sounds simple, but it's hard work! And I love it. In a nutshell: makeup is artful play that makes me feel beautiful. :-)
