Marianne Brandt (1893-1983) She was a painter, sculptor, photographer, designer, and was a student at the Bauhaus school and became the head of the metal workshop in 1928. During that time, there were so many girl students applied to the Bauhaus. Walter Gropius decided to group them into the less heavy classes such as weaving and textile (stereotype during the old days) but she's special, she created beautiful things out of metals She's amazing!!!! Hannes Meyer (1889 - 1954). Swiss architect -Dessau's Mayor Hesse alleged that Meyer allowed a communist student organization to gain traction & bringing bad publicity to the school and threatening its survival -he got fired by the mayor on August 1, 1930 -Two weeks after, he opened letter in a left wing newspaper characterizes the bauhaus as "incestuous theories (blocking) all access to healthy, life oriented design...as the head of Bauhaus, I fought the bauhaus style."
