Tie-dyed nails The trick, as she notes, is to use a jelly polish as your colored layer. Once both layers are dry you rub a Q-tip across the nail to take off just the top layer and smudge the edges a bit. The tough part is not to take the white off as well.
Start with a base coat, pair your nails w/ blue polish(or any color you choose), one dot of black in water, spray with rubbing Alcohol, dip nail in the water facing down over the black swoop it up out. let dry use a top coat. (you can tape around your nail to avoid a mess from the water part or use Elmers glue around ur nail peel it off when done)
This idea is SO clever and awesome! Paint on the tape before putting it on your nail, cut out bits, put on your nail, then do a clear top coat!
Wet polished nails over a pot of steaming water will give them a matte finish. Then when dry, use tape to mask off portions of nail and apply another coat for a shiny section :) matt DIY
