A Russian silver gilt and plique-a-jour enamel cigarette case, apparently unmarked, Moscow, circa 1900. Of rectangular form with rounded corners, both sides of the case decorated in pierced translucent plique-a-jour enamel featuring mythical bird motifs with scrolling foliate and floral designs within a geometric cloisonné enamel border.

The hemispherical bowl decorated with translucent multi-color enamel branches, birds, flowers and foliage on a gilt stippled ground with rope-work rim, the stem similarly decorated. Marked under bowl. Dimensions: 3 3/4" h x 5 3/4" d.
