Ohio State Reformatory Built in 1886 for young offenders, this castle-like prison is now listed on the national register of historic places and offers guided tours and haunted overnight tours. Also where Shawshank Redemption was filmed.
The Ohio Theater, Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio Theater is a performing arts center located at 39 E. State Street. Known as the "Official Theater of the State of Ohio," the historic 1928 movie palace was saved from demolition in 1969 and completely restored. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.
Adena graves were found and excavated near the Serpent Mound (Adena people were culturally and physically distinct from other peoples of the Ohio valley). Other Adena sites have revealed that these peoples built elaborate circular and winding earthworks and had a fascination with astronomical phenomena. The few pieces of Aedena art even seem to bear an aesthetic connection.
