2012 is the 20th year of the Oakville Jazz Festival. A highly successful event, attracting thousands of residents and tourists, this is one Jazz festival that historically has stuck close to its name and presents a wide variety of jazz music. Where many so-called jazz festivals have gone astray in their programming, the Oakville Jazz Festival still presents a line-up primarily focused on the jazz genre.

Oakville rated best weather in Canada! The wealthy Toronto suburb on the north shore of Lake Ontario has another bonus going for it — a great climate. Oakville has a low average of 117 precipitation days out of the year and 808 millimeters of precipitation annually. Oakville also has an average of 143 days below freezing. While the winters in British Columbia may be warmer, they're not drier than Oakville, which gets the nod as weather capital of Canada.
