The Collared Lory (Phigys solitarius) is a parrot in the Psittaculidae family. It lives on the islands of Fiji in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It has bright red underparts & face w a purple crown & greenish upperparts. Males & females look similar. It has adapted to human habitation & tame readily in captivity.

The Scarlet Minivet (Pericrocotus speciosus) is a small passerine bird. This minivet is found in tropical S Asia from the Indian subcontinent east to S China, Indonesia & the Philippines. They are common resident breeding birds in forests & other well-wooded habitats including gardens, especially in hilly country. The male are scarlet to orange w black upper parts, the females are usually yellow w greyish olive upper parts.
