Ground cherry (aka husk cherries) do quite well in containers as well. Grow them on a patio to help prevent self-propagation and make it easier to harvest them.

Growing peas (an early plant) in pots BEHIND a SFG, before the summer crop is put in or while it is still small. By the time the tomatoes and whatever else need the vertical growing space, the peas will be about done and the vertical growing space is used multiple times
