Phoebe Ann Moses (Annie Oakley) was an American Folk hero and an American Legend. Annie was an American sharp shooter and exhibition shooter. Her talent led her to the starring role of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show and the Young Buffalo show. Described as the greatest women rifle shot in the world. Made enough money at age 15 to pay off the family farm. Annie always sent money from her shows to her mom and orphans. Annie encouraged women to learn to shoot as self-defense.

Robert Dotson and Buffalo Bill Cody. This scan is of an old tintype photo that was in a family collection. According to family stories the clean-shaven gentleman on the right is Robert B. Dotson (b. 1840 Crawford County, MO; d.1903 Crawford County, MO; served in the Civil War in the Kansas Infantry for the Union side), and the gentleman on the left with the beard is Buffalo Bill Cody (who also served in the Kansas infantry during the civil war.

It is believed that Whirling Horse was a member of a Wild West Show, possibly Buffalo Bill Cody's.
