Another pinner said: I wish I had seen this years ago!! Tape before caulking. Smooth out with finger. Then peel off the tape immediately, before it dries. Duh and duh. Where was this the last 10 times I've resealed a tub.

Big TIP~~~~I sprayed both sides of a piece of quilting weight fabric until it was thoroughly wet. And then, because I'm an impatient girl who gets fed up with air drying, I laid the fabric on a paper towel and microwaved it for 30 seconds. It came out crisp like a sheet of paper! I pressed it for a couple seconds with an iron to smooth out any bumps, and voila.
Duh, why didn't I think of that? Hang a picture/object level by putting painter's tape on the level and marking where the object's holes are. Put the level against the wall and mark the wall based on the painter's tape markings.
Caulking: Remove old caulk. Spray with bleach diluted to 10% to remove any mold. Fill tub with water. Place tape 1/4" from crease. Squeeze deep into crease. Smooth out with wet finger. Then peel off the tape immediately, before it dries. Drain the tub when caulk is dry. Wait 24 hours before using tub.
