I went here last night! :) You can’t go wrong with Elliot’s comfort-food cuisine, such as the baked potato bisque, local whitefish with curried lentils and stewed raisins (pictured), and stuffed beignets with molten gianduja and powdered sugar. Wrigley Building and the Chicago River

Little Goat Diner Stephanie Izard’s follow-up to Girl & the Goat (which is itself a popular Randolph Street spot) is an homage to diners. But while it’s possible to get a simple plate of eggs, bacon, and toast here, most of these classic dishes have Izardian twists: kimchi in the pancakes, goat chili on the cheese fries. The next door bakery, Little Goat Bread, has some of the best coffee in town (and a significantly less kitschy look). 820 W. Randolph

Vera Chicago Veer into this 58-seat West Loop spot (named after the chef’s grandmother), and you’re officially in Spanish territory. The main wine list is divided into categories — Old School, New School, The Neighbors, and The Americas —and the sherry selection runs 25 varieties deep.
