How to join your yarn by making a double knot
by janerichmonddesigns on Youtube
Magic knot for joining yarn - no weaving in ends!!
brilliant.....would it hold in lace weights though?
This looks like a really useful join.
going to give it a try!!
I can't wait to try that, best join I've seen yet!
Love learning new tricks. Thanks so much for sharing.
Eileen I found this at a site called knitting paradise...they have a news letter wirh lots of interesting things like this
I just tried it. It's definitely holding and the knot has completely disappeared into the knitting! Awesome!
that is so cool......suppose you are changing colors and need new color to be up close to where you are knitting? how do you do that
clever boy, great video !! :D
Must give this a try. Much better than weaving in and having a lumpy bit especially in thicker wool.
Can' wait to try
Awesome! My daughter just asked how to do that with her lumpy yarn. I went online and came up with this! Perfect! No knot showing at all, quick, easy and strong!
it worked beautifully, although I just heard abut the Russian join.... This takes less tools (no needles). I guess I must go on faith that the knot will not work its way open.
I have tried this knot on different weights of yarn. I am so pleased with it!
I just followed the video on some fingering weight I'm using for a shawl. I am VERY impressed!
I'm curious if this will work with lighter weight yarns such as lace weight also.
I've used this on different weights (lace, fingering, sport, worsted) and it doesn't come undone! And disappears into the stitches. Win-win!
Thanks so much for this! I've been looking for a way to join yarn for a blanket, because it's much harder to "hide" the join as there isn't really an "inside" the way there would be with knitwear. I'm keen to try it!
I did everything step-by-step, it held with the pull test and everything and the yarn still came undone. I ended up having to undo a couple of hours' worth of knitting. I'll give it another go because I really want it to work and make 100% sure I do everything correctly!
It disappears (sort of) in garter stitch - I'd be curious to see if it's that invisible on stockinette. I wouldn't trust it to hold up long term through washing and wearing. I'll carry on splicing and weaving in ends thanks!
So far I haven't had any problem. But I knit shawls, which are
Oops! Didn't mean to send. Shawls don't go thru the same stress on yarn that socks, gloves, hats, etc do. I like having this knot as another option to weaving in ends. Outside
For shawls it makes sense, there would be less stress on the knot and no thicker overlapping yarn showing in the finished shawl. I usually change to the new yarn at the border and weave the ends in along the edge so it won't show too much.
Excellent, this worked great! So excited to have this knowledge!
Just did it works perfectly
