Beatrice Arthur 1922-2009
BEA ARTHUR's hidden youthful awesomeness -- not only was she one of the first women to enlist in the USMC. (Enlistment psych evaluation described her as 'argumentative' and 'over-aggressive.') Her hobbies included hunting with a .22 rifle and “bow & arrow.” She got one misconduct report... "contracting of a venereal disease, which left her 'incapacitated for duty' for five weeks in 1944. As a result, her pay was reduced for that period." And her assignment: TRUCK DRIVER!
