Indy 500, 1967: Jim Clark's Lotus expired after just 35 laps. In fact, the last-placed finishers of the race were Mario Andretti, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Lloyd Ruby, all with mechanical difficulties.

    Interesting race/month. Here's a list of F1 drivers who tried but failed to qualify: Richie Ginther, Pedro Rodriguez, Ronnie Bucknum and Masten Gregory. Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart and Jochen Rindt got bumped and had to bump others to make the field. Hill and Rindt started on the back row. (There were 63 qualifying attempts that year)
